Terms and Conditions

Part A: General
(For terms and conditions specifically related to Online Sessions , please see Part B below)

Confidentiality
We adhere to the code of ethics and conduct set by the British Psychological Society (2009), which is based on Respect, Competence, Responsibility and Integrity.

We keep all personal information confidential and adhere to the Data Protection Act (1998)
We will only pass on information to a 3rd party (usually as a report) when requested to do so and only with consent of the client. Disclosure without the consent of a client will only happen if we are legally bound to do so.

In case a client objects to disclosure of certain topics in a report, he/she must make this clear prior to the report being written.

Cancellation of booked Face-to-Face Sessions
In case a booked session needs to be cancelled, as much notice as possible needs to be given in order to allow for re-allocation of the appointment slot. If there is less than 48 hours notice the full price of the appointment will be charged and payment will be due within 10 working days.

Payment
Private therapy sessions: The payment for each private therapy session should be made either at the start or at the end of the session by cash, cheque or BACS.

Payment through Insurance: When using a private health care provider to pay for all or part of the fee it is the client's responsibility to check with the insurer how much will be covered by them. If the insured sum is less than the fee it is the client's responsibility to pay the remainder of the fee owed.

Corporate Payment: Corporate organisations will receive an invoice after the agreed contract has been completed. The payment will be expected within 28 days.

Part B: Online Services

The online sessions are a convenient and effective way to receive one-to-one therapy or coaching. Hack-it Psychology does however not take responsibility for your mental health needs. It remains your responsibility to seek further help from your GP or other support services whenever you feel in crisis, overwhelmed, or stuck with your specific challenges.

Timing of Sessions
Online sessions will be held on a mutually agreed day and time. Each session lasts for up to 60 minutes unless otherwise agreed. If for any reason you are not answering your telephone at the start of the session we will continue to try and contact you for a further 2 times with 10 minute intervals. If we have not been able to contact you after this 3rd attempt we will not contact you anymore and it will be noted down as a missed session. No refunds are available for missed sessions (please see section below on cancellation terms).

Change of Appointment times
If you wish to re-schedule your appointment to another day or time you can do so if you give us a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. You can leave a message by phone or email to let us know that you need to re-schedule the session. We allow a maximum of 2 re-scheduling attempts per session booked. In case you cannot attend your session, even after we re-scheduled it on two occasions, your session will be noted as a missed session. No refunds are available for missed sessions.

Cancellations
In case you wish to cancel your appointment, a minimum of 48 hours’ notice needs to be given. Cancellation with less than 48 hours’ notice will be noted as a missed session and no refunds are available for missed sessions.
